Man held on $2M bond in deli firebombing

A Sleepy Hollow man is being held on $2 million bond in the McHenry County Jail, accused of throwing a homemade fire bomb in a crowd of people near the deli of a popular grocery store Sunday afternoon.

Fabian J. Torres, 24, is charged with aggravated arson, a class X felony offense that carries a sentence in the Illinois Department of Corrections of six to 30 years, said Philip Hiscock, chief of the criminal division of the McHenry County State’s Attorney’s Office.

Hiscock said he had asked the judge in bond court Monday morning for a $3 million bond.
