The 28-year-old worker told police that he was was wounded inside of his car just after 11:30 p.m. Tuesday in the 3100 block of Monroe Street, according to police.
The victim told investigators that he was sitting in the driver's seat of his Buick LeSabre preparing to deliver an order when he was accosted by two hooded men who demanded cash, according to Officer Robert Perez, a police spokesman.
As the deliveryman tried to drive away, one of the men fired a shot, striking him in the leg, police said.
The men fled without taking any items, police said.
