Signal problems led to delays on Orange, Green, Brown, Purple lines

Signal problems in the Loop caused delays on trains heading in and out of the Loop this morning,

officials said.

Trains on the Orange, Green, Brown, Pink and Purple Line Express trains had been experiencing delays because of signal problems at the Van Buren/Wabash junction, according to CTA spokeswoman Tammy Chase.

The delays were averaging about 15 minutes, she said.

An engineer on a Purple line express train stopped at the Fullerton station advised riders to switch to the inbound Red Line which was running normally, according riders.
