Linda Reinert, of

, was killed when she turned left in front of Gonzalez’s  landscaping truck at the intersection of Lake and Park Streets in Streamwood,  Assistant State’s Atty. Maria McCarthy said. A witness estimated the truck’s speed at 60 mph, she said.

Reinert’s  10-year-old grandson was in the back seat and suffered minor injuries, including a face laceration that required stitches, McCarthy said.

Gonzalez was arrested this week following an investigation and toxicology tests that showed he had cannabis in his system at the time of the crash, McCarthy said.

Police also found a pipe for smoking marijuana and a vial that contained two grams of a barbiturate in the truck, she said.

His next court date is Sept. 14.
