A 4-year-old Woodstock girl was killed after being ejected from a Sport Utility Vehicle after it was involved in a crash on Sunday evening in unincorporated McHenry County, police said today.

The crash happened at 9:30 p.m. at the intersection of Millstream Road and Illinois Route 176 in unincorporated Seneca Township, according to McHenry County Sheriff Keith Nygren.

According to preliminary information, a 2011 Infiniti QX56 SUV was traveling south on Millstream Road when it collided with a second SUV, a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee Larado which was driving west on Illinois Route 176, police said.

The Infiniti failed to stop for a stop sign at the intersection, Nygren said in a press release. Traffic on Illinois Route 176 is not required to stop at the intersection, police said.

Daniela Gomez who had been ejected from the Jeep was dead on arrival at Woodstock Centegra Hospital, police said. The 30 year-old male driver refused treatment and a woman along with a 1-year-old child were treated for minor injuries, police said.

The three people in the Infiniti, including a 5-year-old child, were treated for minor injuries.

Police said it was undetermined whether seat belts were used.

The investigation is ongoing by the McHenry County Sheriff's office of accident investigations unit and the McHenry County Coroner's office, officials said.
