The organizers of the Chicago Jazz Festival have made available some preferred seating for a few of the annual Festival's bigger acts on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
The festival kicks off Thursday, Aug. 30 and continues through Sunday, Sept. 2. Here's a link to the full Chicago Jazz Festival lineup.
I've got pavilion seats for the 6:30 p.m. Friday performance of drummer Roy Haynes at the Jay Pritzker Pavilion, and a handful of pavilion tickets for vocalist Dianne Reeves' 5:30 p.m. set Saturday evening at the Petrillo Music Shell, and for New Orleans-raised pianist Allen Toussaint's 5:30 p.m. set Sunday evening -- also at Petrillo. [EDs: all of the Reeves AND the Toussaint tickets have been claimed!]
How to get tickets:
Drop me a line at TribNation@tribune.com with your name and contact information -- as well as a couple of items in the news you think have been important issues to follow.
(You're writing in, anyhow. I'm also curious what has your attention!)
State your preference for tickets to sit up closer to Roy, Dianne or Allen. First-come, first-served until we run out of tickets.
We'll leave the tickets with your names on them in the Chicago Tribune Store, just inside the lobby of the Tribune Tower at 435 N.Michigan Ave.
