Jennifer Kramer has been named president of SCC/Special Olympics Chicago. In the volunteer position of president, Kramer will oversee all fundraising efforts, secure corporate sponsorships to support Special Olympics Chicago programs and events, as well as raise the overall profile of the organization, which was founded at Soldier Field in 1968. Kramer has been involved with Special Olympics Chicago for 10 years, the last five on the board. She most recently was vice president. Kramer has an extensive background in event production and special event planning. She recently joined Navy Pier as the director of entertainment, overseeing fireworks productions, Skyline Stage performances and events including Winter WonderFest. Before that, she was director of Sports Development for Chicago's department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events and an assistant director for the Chicago Park District.
