John Romza has been named executive vice president of research and innovation at SXC Health Solutions Corp. In his new role in the Office of Innovation, Romza, 56, will transform creative ideas from employees, clients and vendors into products and services including patient-centered medical home pharmacy solutions, pharmacy and medical data integration, mobile app development, medical therapy management and the use of health information exchanges to streamline the sharing of health information among providers. Romza brings more than 30 years of software development experience, with 20 in the pharmacy industry, to his new role. Since 2009, he has been the company's chief technology officer. Romza has a bachelor of science degree from Loyola University of Chicago and a master of science from the Illinois Institute of Technology. Throughout its nearly 20-year history, SXC has created nearly 30 industry innovations, including IntegrailRx, a real-time risk assessment tool that uses pharmacy claims data to enable early intervention.
