John Thompson has been named vice president of Customer Care for Comcast Corp.'s Greater Chicago Region: Chicago and its suburbs, central Illinois, northwest Indiana and southwest Michigan. Thompson, 46, will oversee the day-to-day operations and lead customer service employees throughout the region. Thompson has more than 23 years of telecommunications experience, most recently as senior director of customer care and director of customer service strategy and planning at Comcast in the Greater Chicago Region. Before joining Comcast, he held customer care leadership roles at Jones Intercable and TCI of Illinois. He has a bachelor's degree from Eastern Illinois University.
