Juan Otero has been named chief operating officer at Pan American Bank. He will oversee the daily operations at the bank, including customer service, loan and deposit operations, compliance and retail banking. He will supervise the bank's $300,000 expansion effort and redesign to provide more front-line staff, offer enhanced products and services and introduce a community room. Otero also is the bank's Community Reinvestment Act office. Otero, who has 31 years of experience in community banking and retail banking management, joined Pan American in 2007 as an assistant vice president and branch coordinator. He is based at the bank's Southwest Side branch at 2627 W. Cermak Rd. Before that, he spent 27 years as vice president and branch manager at Midwest Bank, formerly Fairfield Savings Bank. He has a degree from the University of Illinois Chicago.
