Kristi Lafleur, executive director of the Illinois State Toll Highway Authority, has been named to the board of directors for the International Bridge, Tunnel and Turnpike Association, a global alliance of toll operators and related companies. She will leverage her experience in transportation, economic development and government service to help set the strategic direction of the association and advance toll-financed transportation services. The board comprises five officers and 20 directors from toll facilities worldwide. Lafleur will serve through December 2015. Lafleur was appointed executive director of the Illinois Tollway in April 2010 to oversee the 286-mile Illinois Tollway system, serving more than 1.4 million daily users across 12 counties in Northern Illinois. Since joining the Illinois Tollway, Lafleur spearheaded efforts to secure a $12 billion, 15-year capital plan, Move Illinois: The Illinois Tollway Driving the Future. Under Lafleur's leadership, the Illinois Tollway has increased its commitment to environmental responsibility and sustainability for both roadway construction and operations. Christopher Waszczuk, administrator, Bureau of Turnpikes within the New Hampshire Department of Transportation Terry Brechtel, executive director, Alamo Regional Mobility Authority in Texas Klaus Schierhackl, executive director of ASFiNAG, a user-funded company that plans, finances, maintains and tolls the Austrian motorway and expressway network Jose Luis Feito, president, ASETA, the Spanish Association of Toll Motorway Concessionaires David Moretti, executive vice president, Metropolitan Transportation Authority Bridges and Tunnels James Trogdon, chief operating officer of the North Carolina Department of Transportation Joseph Waggoner, executive director of the Tampa-Hillsborough County Expressway Authority Jordi Graells, international toll roads manager, Abertis Infraestructuras South America was named board president.
