WGN-TV meteorologist Tom Skilling is predicting mostly sunny skies with gusty winds out of the north and temperatures peaking in the low 70s. No worries about heat exhaustion today.
Skilling also says there could be some lake effect rain along the lakefront in early afternoon as cool air mixes with Lake Michigan's warm waters, but it doesn't sound like anything that would annoy Bear fans more used to snow than rain. For today's noon kickoff against the Colts, you probably won't need the parka – though a sweatshirt, along with a hat and sunglasses, would probably be a good call.
Skilling said the cool weather – a high in the 70s is about five degrees below seasonal normals – will continue overnight with lows in the 50s, but we're not through with warmth. Monday and Tuesday look sunny, with predicted highs moving into the 80s on Tuesday and Wednesday.
