A man armed with a handgun robbed a branch bank in the Morgan Park neighborhood this morning, authorities said.
The robber demanded cash from employees at the First American Bank branch at 11821 S. Western Ave. in the 9:30 a.m. robbery, but did not injure anyone, according to the
The robber was described by police as a black man with a light complexion between 25 to 30 years old, standing 6-foot-1 to 6-foot-2, weighing 150 to 160 pounds and was wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt.
The FBI said in a release the man was wearing dark clothing, a dark cap and sunglasses and may have been as short as 5-foot-10.
The handgun used in the robbery was described by witnesses as a silver revolver, according to the FBI.
