A 36-year-old man was pronounced dead after being shot today on a sidewalk in the
neighborhood, officials said.
The shooting happened at 11:31 a.m. on the 0-100 block of South Pulaski Road, said Chicago Police News Affairs Officer Veejay Zala.
When police responded they found the man dead, lying on the sidewalk with what appeared to be a gunshot wound to the head, Zala said.
The man was identified as Claude Snulligan of the 1600 block of South Drake Avenue, according to the Cook County medical examiner's office. He was pronounced dead at the scene, a spokesman said.
