Jeremy Smith, Second City associate producer and stage manager, answers 5 quick questions for "Behind the Curtain."
Q1: What's your role with "Chicago Live!" (and what does that actually mean)?
JS: I am the associate producer and stage manager for The Second City. This means I coordinate Second City efforts as related to talent, content, and technical logistics each week. Which means I send of lot of emails, make a lot of phone calls, and try to visualize the technical appearance of the performance in advance.
Q2: What do you do when you're not at "CL!"?
JS: When I'm not at "CL!," I'm working on other Second City productions in our three resident theaters and helping to coordinate shows at theaters across the country.
Q3: Do you have a favorite "CL!" moment/story/guest?
JS: You know, there are so many. I think one of my favorite moments happens every week during the technical rehearsals and sound checks, when music director TJ Shanoff entertains the room by playing hilarious renditions of past segments. AND when he throws out
