Cans of tuna

The amount of mercury in canned tuna varies greatly depending on the type of fish used to make it. Albacore tuna contains roughly three times as much mercury as chunk light tuna because albacore is made with a larger-size variety of tuna. Both types are sold side-by-side in an Oak Park grocery store not included in the Tribune study.
