Michael A. Carrillo has joined Barnes & Thornburg LLP's Chicago office as a partner in its Intellectual Property Department. Carrillo represents and counsels individuals and corporations on patent, trademark, copyright and trade secret matters and foreign and domestic patent and trademark protection. Most recently, he was a partner in the intellectual property and information technology practices at Neal Gerber Eisenberg LLP. He has counseled companies from start-ups to established businesses on developing, managing and policing patent and trademark portfolios. He also has represented large financial and lending institutions in preparing and negotiating licenses for online banking software and technology. Carrillo has a B.S. from Purdue University and J.D. from University of Illinois College of Law.
