Jazz's "Fatha"

Earl "Fatha" Hines moved from Pittsburgh to Chicago in 1925 and became Louis Armstrong's piano player with the "Hot Five" to produce some of the most important recordings of the early jazz period. He won several critics' awards throughout a prolific recording career and was considered by Count Basie to be the "greatest piano player in the world."
