A new season at the Neo-Futurists

The Neo-Futurists have announced their 2011-12 season.  Typically electic titles abound.

They include:

• "Chalk and Saltwater: The Ladder Project." Opening in September and created by John Piersen and Clifton Frei, this piece dissects the Broadway failure of "The Ladder," a long-running flop.

• "Burning Bluebeard." Opening in November, this piece by Jay Torrence connects "Mr Bluebeard," the first show performed in the Iroquois Theatre in Chicago, and the fire that famously destroyed that venue, killing 600.

• "The Strange and Terrible True Story of Pinocchio (the wooden boy) as Told by Frankenstein's Monster (the wretched creature)." In this spring play by Greg Allen, Mary Shelley's famous monster takes on the lying puppet with the big nose.
