North Shore donations

On April 8, 1960, Harvey Rose, of Glenview, took donations as the 8:07 train pulled into the Glenayre station of the North Shore Skokie Valley Route. Commuters pitched in with donations to help the North Shore line when it began to lose passengers to the new expressways and competing railroads. The electric railroad finally shut down in 1963.
