Kathy Griffin

Kathy Griffin was born and raised in Oak Park, and punched her ticket out with a White Sox commercial when she was still in high school. She spent the next few decades doing stand-up comedy and acting in a staggering list of forgettable movies and TV shows, before becoming semi-famous thanks to a role on the sitcom "Suddenly Susan." Her Bravo show "Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D-List," and a series of well-rated stand-up specials have made Griffin almost as famous as the celebrities she riffs on. On the phone from New Orleans, Griffin, who will host a just-announced weekly talk show, "Kathy," for Bravo this spring, discusses some good advice she just got from Cher.8 p.m. Friday and Saturday at Chicago Theatre, 175 N. State St.; $49.50-$69.50; 800-745-3000 or ticketmaster.comRead the full Kathy Griffin intervew
