Diane Paulus' critically acclaimed, Tony Award-winning revival of Roger O. Hirson and Stephen Schwartz's "Pippin" is headed to Chicago next summer, but for a paltry two weeks.

The Chicago engagement, which is slated for July 28 to Aug. 9, 2015,  stands in stark contrast to the long Chicago run of "Motown The Musical," which got mixed reviews on Broadway. "Pippin,"" however, has been a critical and popular hit.

The circus-infused show, which opened on Broadway in 2013, will play the Cadillac Palace Theatre. Single tickets are not yet on sale.

Also announced Wednesday: Sasha Allen, a past contestant on the NBC show "The Voice," will play the role of the "Leading Player" in the show, which kicks off in Denver this September.
