A Chicago police officer and a school bus driver suffered minor injuries when the bus and a squad car collided in the Bronzeville neighborhood on the South Side this morning, authorities said.
No children were injured, they said.
The crash occurred in the 4200 block of South King Drive about 7:50 a.m. The office and the driver were taken in good condition to hospitals, according to the Chicago Fire Department.
The police officer was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital and the bus driver to Mercy Hospital, said Police News Affairs Officer Jose Estrada. A school bus attendant also may have gone to Mercy to be checked.
The officer was believed to be from the Wentworth District, although that information was preliminary.
In all, 11 people were on the bus or in the squad car, according to the fire department.
All the children on the bus were taken to school safely, Estrada said. News Affairs did not have details on the crash.
