Police warn of man who attacked woman on South Side

Chicago police have issued a community alert today after a man sexually assaulted a woman in the Marquette Park neighborhood recently.

The incident happened on March 7, in the 2400 block of West 65th Street at about 6:30 a.m., police said.

The 18-year-old woman was walking toward Western Avenue when a man who was armed with a knife approached her from behind, police said. The man forced her into an alley where he sexually assaulted the woman before fleeing the scene, police said.

The man is described as black, between 30 and 40 years old, between 5 feet 11 inches and 6 feet 2 inches tall. He weighs between 180 and 190 pounds, police said.

He had black hair and a dark complexion. He was wearing a black and red hooded sweatshirt, dark colored pants and black shoes, police said.
