Butterprint Farm Pumpkin Patch

The pumpkins wouldn't quit this year at Butterprint. "This year, I was cutting back pumpkin plants. They were coming right back with a vengeance," owner Bill Banks said. "They are nice, big and healthy." Prices are not yet set, but Banks expected costs to be similar to those at other farms. Unlike other farms, Butterprint does not have ghoulish activities or decorations. Instead, the farm focuses on a fall harvest theme, with demonstrations on farm preservation and nature education. The farm is open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekends in October. Admission is $8 for adults, $5 for children age 3 and older. Children age 2 and younger are free. Cost includes access to a hayride, corn maze, farm museum, nature museum and petting zoo. No parking fees. 24936 S. 80th Ave., Monee; 708-534-8801 or butterprintfarm.com Tribune file photo
