Randy Varju has been named chief development officer and president of the Advocate Charitable Foundation. Varju will have responsibility for the vision, planning, implementation and management of charitable giving and fundraising for all Advocate Health Care hospital, and system-wide development initiatives. He also will manage system and site foundation associates and will oversee all philanthropic campaign activities. Varju has been as interim president of the foundation while fulfilling his duties as its executive development officer. In this role, he leads the development efforts for all Advocate hospitals, designing and implementing the system's major gift program. Additionally, he has set the long-term strategic framework for fundraising to support Advocate's mission, values, philosophy and vision. He joined the foundation in 2002 and has served as vice president of development at Advocate South Suburban Hospital and Advocate Christ Medical Center/Advocate Hope Children's Hospital. Varju has an MBA from Lewis University Graduate School of Management and a B.S. in marketing and management from Illinois State University.
