Ronald G. Kaminski, president and chief executive of HBK Engineering LLC, has joined the Chicago Metro History Education Center board of directors for a three-year term through 2016. Kaminski has 20 years of engineering, construction and management expertise. Since opening HBK in 1998, he i has served as president and CEO of the firm and led its expansion from Chicago to the East Coast and subsequent licensure to practice in 28 states. Kaminski has a civil engineering degree from the University of Iowa. The organization serves students (grades 6-12), teachers and schools in Chicago and suburban Cook, Lake, Kane, and DuPage Counties. Through History Fair and other programs and activities, it promotes a project-based, inquiry method of learning history that encourages students to learn about the history of their community and build critical-thinking skills that prepare them for college, careers and citizenship.
