During one of the presidential debates in October, KitchenAid made two of the worst social media mistakes of them all. First, someone tweeted from the brand's account instead of a personal account. Second, that person insulted President Obama's deceased grandmother. The story here started out as the shock of what happened and what the message said. The story ended up being how well the social media manager for KitchenAid handled damage control. She not only quickly apologized to the Twitter followers, she apologized to the president and his family. The mistake was easily preventable, but the handling was stellar.
