A man and woman were fatally stabbed this morning in separate domestic disturbances on the city's North Side, Chicago police said.
Authorities made arrests in both fatal stabbings, but no criminal charges had been filed this morning, officials said.
In the first incident, officers discovered a 22-year-old man with a stab wound to the chest at a residence in the 1400 block of North Sedgwick Street in the Old Town neighborhood at about 1:45 a.m., police said.
The man, Maurice D. Wilson, was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 2:21 a.m., according to the Cook County medical examiner's office. Officers immediately took a woman into custody, police said.
At nearly the same time, officers discovered a 53-year-old Elle Mills stabbed in the chest at an apartment in the 6100 block of North Sheridan Road in the Edgewater neighborhood, authorities said.
She was dead at the scene, according to a medical examiner's spokesman.
Police were called to the scene by the woman's boyfriend, who admitted to stabbing the woman to responding officers, a law enforcement source said.
He was arrested and taken into custody by Area North detectives.
