Some team had to be the one to give coaching lifer Tom Thibodeau his first shot after toiling as an assistant coach for over 20 years. The Bulls did, and Thibodeau merely won Coach of the Year honors after joining Paul Westphal and Bill Russell as the only coaches to win 60 or more games in their first seasons. Thibodeau's preparation and demand for attention and accountability wrung the most out of an overachieving Bulls team.
