Thomas Cushing has joined The Delta Institute as director, strategic partnerships and policy. He will be responsible for building Delta¿s private sector consulting and advocating for policies to further the institute's mission of environmental sustainability and economic development. Cushing comes to The Delta Institute from his own work in sustainability and business development, including an assignment with the Clean Energy Trust. He spent four years with the Chicago Climate Exchange, a pioneer in emissions trading, where as senior vice president for membership he promoted the development of market based tools to measure and reduce harmful emissions. For 18 years before joining CCX, Cushing practiced as a civil trial attorney in Cook County. He has a J.D. from Loyola University School of Law and B.A. from the University of Notre Dame.
