Wendy S. Leutgens has been named chief operating officer of Loyola University Medical Center. She starts June 4. Leutgens, an RN with more than 20 years of experience in hospital operations, nursing management and physician practice management, comes to Loyola from Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, where she oversaw the professional services division, encompassing radiology, pharmacy, laboratories, radiation oncology, access services, medical information services, allied health programs and acute rehabilitation services. She began her career as a pediatric nurse at Carolinas Medical Center, Charlotte, N.C. She began her management career at PhyCor of Wilmington, N.C. Leutgens has a B.S. in nursing from East Carolina University, Greenville, and a M.S. in nursing from the University of North Carolina, Charlotte.
