The accident happened about 7 a.m. near 95th Street and Vincennes Avenue, officials said.
An empty outbound Metra Rock Island train struck a pedestrian, according to a Metra spokesman, citing preliminary reports. The train was to arrive in Blue Island, the spokesman said.
