Woman hurt during Old Town blaze

A woman was hospitalized after inhaling smoke during a fire at a residential building in the Old Town neighborhood tonight.

The blaze started about 7:45 p.m. at 6-floor residential building at 1500 N. La Salle St., according to the Chicago Fire Department.

A 32-year-old woman suffered minor smoke inhalation and she was taken in good condition to an unidentified hospital.

Flames were contained to one unit, according to the fire department.

At 7 p.m. police officers were diverting traffic away from the area, according to police News Affairs Officer Darryl Baety.
