Two people were shot, including a woman in her 20s who police described as an innocent bystander, in a suspected gang-related shooting in the Uptown neighborhood Friday afternoon.
The woman was working inside a store in the 4600 block of North Sheridan Avenue when one man approached another outside and opened fire just before 5 p.m., Chicago Police News Affairs Officer Hector Alfaro said.
The woman sustained a graze wound to her right thigh and was treated and released from Weiss Memorial Hospital, Alfaro said.
The shooter hit an 18-year-old man in the left shoulder and left armpit; the victim was taken in critical condition to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, Alfaro said.
Nobody is in custody.
It's the second shooting on that block in 10 days. Police said two boys were shot about 9:30 p.m. on Nov. 22. A 15-year-old was shot in the leg and a 17-year-old in the buttocks.Copyright © 2015, Los Angeles Times
