MinOnline just listed Ebony's June issue as one of the top advertising gainers in the entire industry for our year-over-year growth. Of course, we still face the same declining newsstand environment that plagues the magazine industry. My big challenge is to galvanize the interest of new consumers while retaining my existing readers.
Since magazines are a purely discretionary purchase, my industry is negatively affected by an uncertain economy, particularly as many of the ramifications like unemployment disproportionately affect Ebony's readers. Our great opportunity is to continue to expand our digital footprint and the various platforms where you can find Ebony content.
