Police in Northwest Indiana are asking for the public's help in finding a Munster, Ind., eye doctor who has been missing since March 21.
Doctor Promila Mehta-Paul, 70, was last seen last Monday at her medical office on Kennedy Avenue in Highland, Ind., according to a release from the Munster Police Department. She did not show up for work on Tuesday, despite having several appointments on her calendar, and gave no notice that she wouldn’t be coming to work.
She has not been seen or heard from since, something termed "very unusual" in the press release. Munster police checked the doctor's residence and said it appears she had not been there for several days. Munster Police Sgt. Steven Kovacik said today that none of the woman's vehicles are missing.
Doctor Mehta-Paul is described as a white female of Indian descent. She is about 5 feet 1 inch tall, weighs about 130 pounds, and has brown eyes and brown hair.
Anyone with information about Mehta-Paul is asked to contact the Munster Police Department at 219-836-6600 or the Highland Police Department at 219-838-3181.
