Deals and coupon matchups for Dominick's week of Feb. 10

Despite many couponers' vows that they will never again shop at Dominick's, there should still be some deals to be found there. If you haven't been up on the store's recent Facebook announcement that they don't take expired coupons, you might want to my post about it. (All is not lost -- my store and many others around Chicago are still taking expireds. Because of this, I decided to go ahead and include some good matchups involving expired coupons today -- but I will label them in case you don't want to bother with those.)

Here are the top Dominick's deals for the sale week that begins Thursday, Feb. 10. I don't list every single item in the ad -- just the items that are near their cyclical low prices or have good coupons available. My favorite Dominick's deal this week is the continuation of the "buy 3, save $3" deal on California Pizza Kitchen and Edy's ice cream, since it can still be combined with the (not yet expired) coupons from the past week's Jewel ad to probably get you two pizzas and ice cream for $8 or less. See below for details.

FRIDAY-MONDAY ONLY

Dominick's Italian sausage $2.49/lb.

16 oz. strawberries BOGO @ $4.99

Starbucks Coffee 11-12 oz. select varieties $5.99

Pepperidge Farm cookies, select varieties, limit 4 $1.88

Haagen-Dazs ice cream 14 oz. $2.79

REGULAR ALL-WEEK SALES

Lobster tails 5 oz. $5.99 each

Safeway 8 lb. bag navel oranges $3.99

Capri Sun 10-pack $1.79

asparagus $2.49/lb.

24-pack Pepsi or 7-Up $4.99

Kettle potato chips 9 oz. $2.50 (use the $1 off coupon from the 1/2 RedPlum newspaper insert or print a $1 off coupon)

BUY ONE, GET ONE FREEmix and match: (Note that Dominick's official coupon policy says you only get to use one coupon for a pair of BOGO items, and my store for one has started enforcing that at the register. This makes BOGOs a lot less attractive at Dom's than at Jewel.)

Oscar Mayer Carving Board tubs or 10 oz. lunch meat (use the $1 off coupon from the 1/23 SmartSource insert), Oscar Mayer beef bologna, Oscar Mayer beef franks, Hormel pork tenderloins or loin fillets, Johnsonville breakfast sausage links or patties (use the $1 off 2 coupon from the 1/23 Smartsource - my store has still been accepting coupons for BOGOs if they require the purchase of two items -- just not two separate coupons), Oscar Mayer complete Lunchables, Perdue ground turkey breast, Perdue Short Cuts, Oscar Mayer sliced bacon, Tyson breaded chicken selections, Nathan's Angus Beef Sausage, Mama Lucia meatballs 38.4 oz. frozen. (Unfortunately no prices are listed on these so it's hard to say if they will be a good deal.

REGULAR BUY ONE, GET ONE FREE- Note that Dominick's official coupon policy says you only get to use one coupon for a pair of BOGO items, and my store for one has started enforcing that at the register. This makes BOGOs a lot less attractive at Dom's than at Jewel.

Safeway boneless skinless chicken breasts or thighs, Van de Kamp's seafood selections @ up to $6.99 (use this printable coupon for $2 off Van de Kamp's and Birdseye Steamfresh)

SPECIAL DEAL: BUY 3, SAVE $3, mix and match:(Same as last week and I am so glad because I didn't get as many as I wanted this week) Edy's ice cream, California Pizza Kitchen pizzas, Totino's Pizza Rolls, Jimmy Dean Breakfasts, Freschetta pizzas. They're not showing prices but as of today the Edy's and CPK were both $3.99 after the instant savings. (Use the "buy two CPK, get free Edy's" coupon from last week's Wednesday and Sunday Jewel-Osco ads -- it does not expire until 2/23. There are expired$1 off CPK coupons in teh 12/5, 11/14 and 9/26 SmartSource inserts.)

SUPER PRICE COUPONS (These are store coupons that can be combined with manufacturer's coupons and require a $10 minimum purchase.)

O Organics milk 64 oz., limit 3 $2.79 (anything under $3 for a half gallon of organic milk is a bargain)

Lucerne large eggs 18-count $1.99

About the coupons listed in this post:

The SmartSource, RedPlum, P&G Brand Saver and General Mills coupon inserts I refer to come in your Sunday newspaper. Most serious coupon shoppers save their weekly inserts from the Sunday paper, so don't be surprised if I reference a coupon that came out several weeks ago or longer. If you still have it, use it; if you don't, oh well. The printable coupons I mention can usually be printed a second time by using the "back" button on your browser.

THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT SHOPPING AT DOMINICK'S:

1) They MIGHT accept expired coupons that are up to one year old. (See my post on the recent, sudden Dominick's coupon policy change, which is not being enforced at many stores.)

2) Besides the discounts that everyone can get by using their "Fresh Values" card, Dominick's now has a personalized savings program where you can add deals to your card before you shop. Check out the Just for U program here.
