Friday grab bag: Free museum admissions, sales

Close your eyes, reach in, and grab a fun Chicago deal for the weekend from this Friday afternoon assortment:

  • Earlier this week, I told you about all the free Chicago museum days coming up. Saturday June 4 and Sunday June 5 are a Bank of America free museum weekend! In Chicago, that includes the Shedd Aquarium, the Art Institute, Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago History Museum and the DuSable Museum of African American History. Free admission is only for the BofA debit or credit card holder, with ID, and you'll probably have to still pay for all the special exhibits like the jellies at the Shedd.
  • It's Wilton Tent Sale time! Today through June 21, save "up to 75 percent" on cake decorating and baking supplies, kitchen stuff and craft stuff. This is at 2240 W. 75th Street, Woodridge, IL 60517.
  • Menard's is also having a big sale, where you can get a kid's bike for $20 after mail-in rebate. I read about this on Mashup Mom, but the details are all up at Save More, Share More.
  • The Chicago Tribune Printer's Row Lit Fest is going on this weekend, with free entertainment and activities for kids in the Li'l Lit Park.
  • Get a personalized Father's Day card for 99 cents through Tiny Prints -- Money Saving Mom explains how. My friend Kori says Tiny Prints makes the best cards.
  • Take 20 percent off everything at The Children's Place through June 5 with the coupon code SAVE20.
  • Take up to 40 percent off a photobook from with the coupon code JUNCB40.
