Sunday Chicago Tribune deals and coupons May 22

Here are the top coupons and sale found in the Sunday Chicago Tribune for May 22. From the inserts I have seen so far, it looks like a slow week, which is fine because who wants to shop now that the weather is finally nice?

There is one SmartSource and one RedPlum insert this weekend.

RedPlum has a $1 Magnum coupon, $1/2 Breyer's Blasts! (aka "dairy desert" plus cookiesand stuff), buy one get one free Axe deodorant or body spray, $5/2 Diageo liquors (Baileys, Captain Morgan, Johnnie Walker, Jose Cuervo)

SmartSource has some Walgreens store coupons good through 7/5, including $1/2 Ritz Crackerfuls and $.50 off Kraft Mayo or Miracle Whip, both of which have manufacturer's coupons out there to pair them with. Also, buy one, get one free Wonka Exceptionals bar, $1 off Ore-Ida sweet potato fries

Parade has some coupons: $2 off Kerasal moisturizer, $2 off JointFlex pain relieving cream, $2 off a 21st Century Pet Health Product at Petsmart (manufacturer's coupon)

There's a sticker on the front of the Tribune for 6 free corn fritters from Brown's, expires June 1.

In addition to the Jewel sales from the Wednesday ad, Jewel has some new manufacturer's coupons in the Sunday ad:

  • $3 off Jim Bean 750 mL or larger, exipres 5/25
  • Buy a 24-pack Miller Lite for $12.99, get Oscar Meyer meat or turkey hot dogs, Rosen's buns and a 2L of 7-Up all for a penny. If your Jewel is aware that the store coupon policy does not require liquor purchases on such coupons, this is a great deal.

UPDATE: I tried this at a Jewel today and was unsuccessful. I spoke with a manager who was informed about the policy and had been helpful in the past with using such coupons without alcohol purchase, but she said they got a memo that this coupon was not covered by the policy because it was not supplied by the vendor. I'm contact corporate about this and will let you know what I find out.

Also a couple of new Jewel-Osco BOGO offers: Nathan's beef franks @ $4.99, Culinary Circle feta crumbles 4 oz. @ $2.99
