Christina Aguilera pops $10 million for Westside mansion

Christina Aguilera recently closed escrow on a mansion in gated Mulholland Estates, buying the Westside home of Detroit Pistons owner Tom Gores and his wife, Holly, for $10 million.

The Mediterranean, custom-built in 1992, features a family room with exposed beams, a paneled library, two bars, five fireplaces, a screening room, six bedrooms, nine bathrooms and 11,107 square feet of living space. A saltwater swimming pool with spa, a bathhouse and a gazebo also sit on the more than three-quarters of an acre of grounds.

Aguilera, 32, is among the world’s bestselling recording artists with sales of more than 50 million records. The Grammy-winner’s hits include “Ain’t No Other Man,” “Beautiful” and “What a Girl Wants.” She was a coach on the TV singing competition “The Voice” in 2011 and 2012.

She made the cut of Time’s 2013 list of the 100 most influential people worldwide.

Gores and his Beverly Hills-based private equity firm, Platinum Equity, own Palace Sports & Entertainment, which includes the Pistons.

Gores paid $4.595 million for the property in 1999, public records show.

Christine Martin, Samira Gores and Tiffany Martin of Hilton & Hyland were the listing agents. Brooke Kaufman, also of Hilton & Hyland, represented Aguilera.
