Hot Property: Diane Keaton sells Alfred Newman Estate

Update: Oscar-winning actress Diane Keaton has sold the Alfred Newman Estate in Pacific Palisades for $10.75 million.

Keaton spent more than two years refurbishing the Lloyd Wright-designed Midcentury house, which was named after and built for the nine-time Academy Award composer. Newman, who died in 1970, wrote music for more than 200 movies during his 40-plus-year career.

An experienced home renovator, Keaton had listed the 1-acre compound at $8.5 million in the spring but took it off the market and expanded the grounds to include more than 2.5 acres before relisting at $13.25 million. The property includes a main residence, two detached bedroom suites, mature sycamore and oak trees and a swimming pool.

In the main house, Keaton restored the woodwork and built-in furniture, updated the kitchen and reworked the second story to create a loft-like master bedroom suite with walls of glass. There are five bedrooms, 31/2 bathrooms and four fireplaces in 4,386 square feet of living space. She landscaped and redid the driveway and motor court, which is now decomposed granite.

The actress-producer-director won her lead actress Oscar for “Annie Hall” (1977). She purchased the Newman estate in 2007 for $9.1 million, according to public records.

The listing agents were Aileen Comora and Paul Lester of Westside Estate Agency, Beverly Hills. Jai Winding of Coldwell Banker, Pacific Palisades, represented the buyer.
