Jon Feltheimer buys Holmby Hills estate for $9,812,500
Lions Gate Chief Executive Officer Jon Feltheimer has purchased a Holmby Hills estate bordering the Los Angeles Country Club for $9,812,500.
The Mediterranean home sits alongside a fairway in a row of houses that includes Candy Spelling’s residence and the Playboy Mansion. The location is sometimes referred to as “Boardwalk” among area real estate agents because it is considered so desirable.
The four-bedroom, five-bathroom house of about 6,400 square feet occupies a 1.3-acre flat lot. It was built in 1927, updated in the ‘60s and owned by the same family for nearly six decades. A Los Angeles Times story reported the purchase in 1952, “representing investment in excess of $150,000, including improvements.”
Feltheimer, 58, has served since 2000 as CEO of the film and TV studio, responsible for the Tyler Perry movies, the “Mad Men” TV series (2007-present) and “Precious” (2009). Before that he was president of Columbia TriStar Television Group and executive vice president of Sony Pictures Entertainment. At Sony, he was involved in such hit shows as “Mad About You” (1992-99), “The Nanny” (1993-99) and “The King of Queens” (1998-2007).
The property, with city lights and green belt views, came on the market in late 2008 at $24.8 million.
The listing agent was Raymond Bekeris of John Bruce Nelson & Associates, Bel-Air, according to the Multiple Listing Service. David Offer of Prudential California Realty, Brentwood, represented the buyer.
