Palisades purchase is no joke

Adam Sandler, who stars in the upcoming holiday movie “Spanglish,” has purchased a Pacific Palisades home for just under $13 million, according to real estate sources.

Sandler bought a house, on two-thirds of an acre, with seven bedrooms and nine bathrooms in nearly 13,000 square feet. The home, built in 1990, also has a pool. The property was not on the market.

Brooklyn-born Sandler, 38, went from NBC’s “Saturday Night Live” to such films as “Happy Gilmore” (1996), “The Wedding Singer” (1998) and “Big Daddy” (1999). He then costarred with Emily Watson in the critically acclaimed dramatic comedy “Punch-Drunk Love” (2002). A year later, he costarred with Jack Nicholson in the comedy “Anger Management.”

He stars in the upcoming remake of “The Longest Yard.” “Spanglish” is due out Dec. 17.

‘MASH’ vet sells in Beverly Hills

Actor Wayne Rogers and his wife, Amy, have sold the condo they bought in 2002 after selling their Beverly Hills home of 30 years. The condo sold for close to its $1.39-million asking price.

The contemporary unit has two bedrooms, 2 1/2 bathrooms and a living room with a den in 2,600 square feet. There is also a balcony, and the condo is in a full-service building, constructed in 1981.

The couple’s main residences are in Utah and Florida.

The actor, who played Capt. Trapper John McIntyre on the TV series “MASH” (1972-83), is also a home builder and financier.

Kay Pick and Jonathan Canter of Coldwell Banker, Beverly Hills, had the listing.

West Hollywood,

it’s what he likes

Nick Zano, who stars as Vince on the WB series “What I Like About You,” has purchased a West Hollywood home for close to its asking price of $749,000.

Zano, who also hosts “Pepsi Smash,” the live concert show that airs in the summer on the WB, bought a 1,600-square-foot home, built in 1924, with such period details as French doors, hardwood floors, balconies and courtyards.

Two of the three bedrooms open to a deck, and there is a bonus room with wood-beam ceilings.

Zano, 24, started his career as host of MTV’s “Movie House.” He also has a part in the upcoming movie “Fat Albert,” due to be released Dec. 25.

Jon Bronson of Westside Estate Agency, Beverly Hills, represented Zano in buying.

Heiress lists her

refurbished home

Casey Johnson, an heir to the Johnson & Johnson pharmaceutical empire, has put her Beverly Hills-area home on the market at just under $3.4 million.

The two-story, 3,500-square-foot villa was built in 1936 but was recently refurbished. There are city views, ebony-stained floors, a wet bar and a garden with a fireplace.

Johnson, in her 20s, has been pals with such celebrities as Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie.

Elaine Young and Gail Landry of Century 21, Elaine Young Real Estate, Beverly Hills, have the listing with Jeeb Naiman O’Reilly and Nancie Richards of Keller Williams Realty, Beverly Hills.

Director leaving Hancock Park

Tim Hunter, director of episodes for such TV shows as “Crossing Jordan” and the HBO series “Carnivale” and director of the acclaimed movie “River’s Edge” (1987), and his artist wife, Cynthia duBois, have sold their 1920s Mediterranean-style home in Hancock Park for $1.75 million. The buyer is a real estate investor from Tucson.

The house has six bedrooms and 4 1/2 bathrooms in about 4,400 square feet. The two-story villa also has a massive stone fireplace, carved archways, thick plastered walls, beamed ceilings, and wood and tile floors. The house still has its original bathrooms and kitchen. There is a pool on the grounds.
