Gisele Bündchen, one of the world’s most famous faces in modeling, has for the moment turned up her nose at living in Los Angeles.

The 26-year-old, who has appeared on the covers of just about every major international fashion magazine since — as the story goes — she was discovered in a Brazilian shopping mall at age 14, has sold her 4,000-square-foot Hollywood Hills home for $4 million and is now living in New York.

The one-story, gated Spanish hacienda in the Sunset Strip area that she sold has a media room, a gym, city views and a pool. The home has four bedrooms — room enough for all of Bündchen’s five sisters, including her twin — to stay overnight.

Bündchen said an official farewell in 2005 to her relationship with Leonardo DiCaprio. They were chosen by People magazine as the “Most Beautiful Couple in the World” in 2004.

Her personal fortune, valued at $150 million, put her in the “Guinness World Records” book as “the world’s richest supermodel.”

She has modeled for Victoria’s Secret, Louis Vuitton, Valentino, Lanvin and Vogue Eyewear. She is a spokesmodel for Christian Dior and Ralph Lauren. And she has her own line of shoes, called Ipanema Gisele Bündchen. More than 100 million pairs have been sold in six years.

Malibu strikes a chord for the Edge

Dave “The Edge” Howell Evans, whose nickname was inspired by his sharp facial features and sharp mind, has purchased a 120-acre parcel in Malibu with a cottage and a creek on it.

The U2 musician, who sings and plays guitars and keyboards, purchased the canyon property for close to $15 million, according to local real estate agents.

Evans, now 45, joined U2 at the start of the popular rock band’s career in 1976. Bono, the band’s frontman, gave Evans the nickname.

Besides his role in U2, the Edge has recorded with Johnny Cash, B.B. King, Tina Turner and Ron Wood.

Next condo buyer need not be bionic

Lindsay Wagner, known best as “The Bionic Woman” (a character she played on TV in the ‘70s), has sold a condo in Chatsworth for $649,000.

Wagner, 57, sold a nearly 2,000-square-foot unit with three bedrooms and three bathrooms. The condo was built in 1989; she bought it in 2004.

The actress also appeared in “The Six Million Dollar Man” (1974) and in a number of movies and commercials.

A natty Neutra sells near UCLA

UCLA students may recognize this condo. Architect Richard Neutra designed and built it in 1937 as part of the Strathmore Apartments in Westwood. The units were stacked and staggered on top of each other in pueblo style.

This unit, one of four condos, has been sold for close to $600,000. The condo has been described as being “like a one-bedroom house with a private garage.”

Charles and Ray Eames made the first of their famous chairs in their Strathmore apartment. Actor Orson Welles, actress Dolores del Rio, actress Luise Rainer, playwright Clifford Odets and plenty of UCLA students over the years rented in the building.

Richard Crowley of Rodeo Realty’s Beverly Hills office had the listing; Rita Hinkley of Prudential California, Torrance, represented the buyer.

Seven sales shred $20-mil barrier

Although it’s a little early to call it a trend, Beverly Hills real estate broker Cecelia Kennelly-Waeschle has noticed some Westside high-end residential sales worth a mention.

So far this year, seven $20-million-plus homes have sold in the Bel-Air, Brentwood, Malibu and other Westside areas tracked regularly by Kennelly-Waeschle. Last year at this time, there had only been two.
