CHARLEVOIX -- Mr. and Mrs. David Bordas of Charlevoix celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary with a trip to Virginia, touring Mount Vernon, Monticello and Yorktown. Their children and families are planning a summer anniversary blessing celebration in their honor.
David Bordas and Linda Disney met when he was a naval firefighter instructor at D.C. Firefighter School Station at the Philadelphia Naval Base, and she was a waitress at the Penrose Diner. They were married on Nov. 4, 1972, at the Philadelphia Naval Base Chapel by the Rev. Charles Bichel, USN.
Mr. Bordas retired from the U.S. Coast Guard in 1986 and from Harbor Industries in 2010. Mrs. Bordas operates a home day care business.
They have two children, Dawn (Michael) Smith-Rohler of Waterford, Pa., and David M. (Aleida) of Peekskill, N.Y.; a grandson, Branden (Ariana) Smith of Suffolk, Va.; granddaughters, Kennedy and Reagan Bordas, Kyleigh and AshLyne Rohler; and great-grandchildren, twins Brayden and Sophie Smith.
