A daughter, Abigayle Hukill, was born to Richard and Michelle Hukill of Levering at 2:20 p.m. on Sunday, May 5, 2013, at McLaren Northern Michigan in Petoskey. Abby weighed 6 pounds, 2.6 ounces and was 18 3/4 inches long at birth. Her siblings are Kainen Hukill and Jayden Taylor.

Friendship Centers of Emmet County has made plans to celebrate Mothers Day on Monday, May 13, at the Petoskey Friendship Center and the Pellston Friendship Center. The salad bar starts at 11:30 a.m. with the Mothers Day luncheon at noon, consisting of chicken cordon bleu, oven roasted redskin potatoes, vegetables, and a special dessert. The Council on Aging will be closed on Monday, May 27, but will have a celebration on Tuesday, May 28, in honor of Memorial Day. Guests will enjoy a lunch of baked chicken with potato salad, baked beans, biscuits, and dessert. Lunch is available for a suggested donation of $2.50 for seniors age 60 and older and their spouses; non-senior guests may purchase lunch for $5.
