Share

The Burbank Kiwanis For Fun Car Show and Arts and Crafts Fair is almost here. This 13th Annual Car Show will be held on Sunday, April 29, from 9 to 3:30 p.m., at Johnny Carson Park, 400 Bob Hope Dr., Burbank. It will feature beautiful vintage vehicles, trucks, motorcycles, live entertainment, goodie bags, opportunity drawings, food, beverages, and arts and crafts vendors. This club serves a great pancake breakfast and a super lunch of hamburgers, hot dogs and the best French fries this side of the Mississippi. It is a really great way to spend a Sunday. There is something for every member of the family.

The car show is the club’s biggest fundraiser. The money raised on this day will allow the club to assist as many people in our community that need help. Some of the beneficiaries include BCR a Place to Grow, Salem Christian Homes for the Handicapped, The Roy and Patricia Disney Cancer Center, the Burbank Police Department, the Burbank Animal Shelter and Ronald McDonald House.

The club also supports and sponsors the Burbank Kiwanis Aktion Club, a service club for developmentally disabled adults.

For more information about the car show, contact Donna or Tony Wade at (818) 846-8487 or at (818) 822-2901.

Burbank Kiwanis For Fun meets the second and fourth Thursday of the month at the Hill Street Cafe, 3301 N. Glenoaks Blvd., Burbank. For more information, contact Jan Loporchio at (818) 843-0535 or at panette@pacbell.net.

Mayor’s Cup Golf Tournament

The Burbank Sunrise Kiwanis Club will host its 15th Annual Mayor’s Cup Golf Tournament at the DeBell Golf Course on Friday, April 27. This fundraising event will provide much-needed funds that will enable the club to serve the community.

Among the many organizations that benefit from the Mayor’s Cup are the Burbank Boys and Girls Club, Burbank Family Service Center, Burbank Police Youth Outreach Center, Outreach for Community Support of Underprivileged Children, Children’s Hospital, Boy Scouts of America, Salvation Army, Bret Harte Elementary School and De Bell Junior Golf and First Tee.

The involvement with the youth in our community is a very important part of what the club accomplishes. It is more than just teaching them to play; it is also teaching them to become moral, caring human beings.

Club members are helping to raise the leaders of tomorrow.

To find out more or to participate in this very worthwhile cause, please contact Mike Caggiano at (818) 842-2242 or visit burbanksunrisekiwanis.org.
