Genevieve Hak Jan. 29, 1933-May 5, 2012 Genevieve Hak born Genevieve Marcella Cannizzo on January 29th 1933 in Chicago died peacefully on May 5th 2012 after a short illness. She is survived by her loving husband Myron Hak, her Children Maria Hak and Cynthia Mase and Cynthia’s family, husband John Mase and her grandchildren JJ and Anthony.
Genevieve graduated from Steinmetz High School in Chicago and worked for AT&T and attended Northwestern University in Evanston Illinois before moving to California. Genevieve spent many happy days as a crossing guard for the children in various Burbank schools and as a successful realtor in Burbank where she and Myron lived for over 50 years. Genevieve was also an accomplished artist whose paintings pop up for sale to this day. Genevieve and Myron had a summer home in Oregon’s Willamette Valley which she cherished and where she focused on her garden which became an incredibly beautiful showpiece.
In October, Genevieve and Myron were to celebrate the 55th anniversary of a joy-filled and loving marriage. Her great sense of humor and kindness were cherished by all who knew her. Visitation will take place on May 21st from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Mission Hills Catholic Mortuary. Funeral services will be held on May 22nd at 10:30 AM at St. Francis Xavier church in Burbank followed by internment at Mission Hills Catholic Cemetery.
