Junior Women’s Club welcomes new members

Twenty-two local residents who have completed six months of provisional training were welcomed this month as new members of the La Cañada Junior Women’s Club. Sharing the honors of presenting each with a flute of champagne and an orchid plant were club President Paige Damron-McIlwain and Lindsay Becker, who, with Mercedes Ynclan, holds the position of provisional membership director.

The new members are Jennifer Ancu, Regina Baker, Joanna Banks, Carolyn Baron, Jenny Boulanger, Lee Chumo, Sharon Clancy, Orsi Crawford, Rachel Fawcett, Elise Gilbert, Kyle Grimes, Jenny Kim, Carrie Martin, Christi Matarese, Lainie Miller, Apala Parikh, Justine Plocher, Stephanie Ryan, Elaine Sample, Katie Shipsides, Torang Vincent and Tammi Chase Wright.

During their provisional training, the women helped make sack lunches for Union Station during the monthly Meals on Heels assembly parties and danced with their spouses and bid on auction items at the Winter Olympics Fundraiser party. Many made soft blankets for the Ronald McDonald House and are scheduled to help with the annual Preschool Eye Screening Program at local nursery schools.
